Hebrews 10:35 (NKJV) Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
Sometimes I know without any doubt that I have heard Him. Other times, I am so distracted by the problem; I cannot seem to filter out His thoughts from my own. A decision still needs to be made and I want it to be the right one.
The Bible says in Proverbs 24:12, ""If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it?"" This reminds me that God knows everything about me. God knows my heart intimately. If I lack the understanding I need to make a decision, God will still bless it---right or wrong. God can turn any situation into a good one, even if I have made a bad decision. This gives me the freedom to make choices without worrying.
I have discovered that my confidence in Him is all I need. Now that I do not worry about making wrong decisions, I hear God more clearly, when I need to. Funny thing about worry, it distracts us from hearing God.
Learning to recognize God comes with fellowship. Have faith that He is always talking to you. As you learn to recognize Him, do not be afraid to make mistakes. God will always prove Himself, even when you miss it. Before long, you will know His voice and experience true freedom from worry.
